From our location, you can drive along the boulevard in a few minutes and turn onto the beach towards Bloemendaal aan Zee. If you are more athletically inclined, you can follow one of our mapped-out cycling routes that run through the dunes and polders. Zuid-Kennemerland National Park extends all the way to IJmuiden and is hardly crowded, even in the summer. For those who prefer a more elaborate picnic along the way, we also have a package including a picnic basket.
20 inch fatbike of 28 inch Monsterbike
The standard fatbike at Behind the Beach is 20 inches. That is a compact size that is nice and agile to ride on the boulevard and beach, and also takes you around the village easily. Do you want extra power and stability?

This is how renting works at Behind the Beach
You can reserve the fatbike via our website or simply stop by at Haltestraat 51. You can choose a half day, a full day, or multiple days. Upon pickup, you will receive a brief explanation of the electric assistance, the gear mechanism, and the lock. Then you hop on and ride away. You return it at the same location, or at our second location in Bloemendaal if that is more convenient.

The 20-inch fat bike is suitable for people from about 1.55 meters tall, making it manageable for teenagers, men, and women. For those who have never ridden a fat bike before, we are happy to briefly show them the way. The electric
